Etch Testing Completed E-mail
debian1.jpgSince the release of Debian Etch on the 8th of April, Techahedron has been running extensive tests in our Labs, and have certified our software as stable on the new operating system. The migration of the servers to Debian Etch is scheduled to start at 23:00 hours on Saturday 5th May, and be completed at 04:00 hours on Sunday 6th May.

The upgrade has been planned for each server as a step-by-step process. Migrating from Sarge to Etch includes only a short outage per server, though due to the requirement to move data from MySql 4 to MySql 5, the length of the outage will be dependent on the size of any client databases. During the period the work is taking place, clients should expect an intermittent service, with at least a 10 minute outage per server.

Techahedron have contacted all affected clients directly, but if there are any specific questions regarding the migration, feel free to post any questions to the support forum.
